WIN A 2005 TRAFALGAR £5 CROWN
One of the most decisive naval battles ever fought captured in the palm of your hand!
The Royal Mint is making available the first £5 Crown for 2005; to commemorate the 200th
anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar.
The Trafalgar £5 has been designed by distinguished sculptor Clive Duncan – his first
commission for the Royal Mint since winning the competition judged by the Royal Mint Advisory Committee.
Gerald Sheehan, Chief Executive of the Royal Mint says, “We are pleased to be able to honour
the momentous achievements of what is known as one of the greatest sea battles in British history, by
creating a Crown piece to mark the 200 th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. We hope that by
commemorating the battle on a coin the victory can continue to be remembered for generations to
come.”
